Art in New Zealand

There is a lot of information about this subject. The best way to find it is with the searches below:

If you are looking for information on a specific artist, search for the artist's name in the catalogue using a keywords search.

There is a video, Maori artists, which features interviews with Kura Rewiri-Thorsen, Darcy Nicholas, Cliff Whiting, Fred Graham, Toi Te Rito Maihi. You can view this in the Special Collections Reading Room on the second floor of the Central City Library.

Auckland City Art Gallery is an invaluable resource for information about New Zealand art. Many of the books you'll find on the Auckland City Libraries' catalogue will only be available through the Art Gallery's research library. They are more than happy for people from the public to use their collection.  Visit their website for details of their opening hours.
