Aaron Topp

Aaron’s first book, Single Fin, is based on a true story. Like his character, Aaron is obsessed with surfing, and suffered the loss of a best mate and mentor.

Fin is struggling to cope after the death of his best mate, Mike. Mike’s uncle takes Fin in, and Fin is finding his way – until Mike’s younger cousin, Jack, turns up, making Fin face some demons – and settle some ghosts.

Single Fin won an Honour Award in the 2007 New Zealand Post Book Awards for Children & Young Adults, in the Young Adult fiction category.

Recommended for ages 15+.
