Industry training and apprenticeships

Industry Training Organisations (ITOs) are established by industries to set skill standards, provide information and advice, arrange for the delivery of on and off-job training.  Many industries have accredited ITOs - there are over 40 ITOs listed on the Tetiary Education Commission site.

ITOs cover a wide range of industries: from avaiation to forestry, from sports turf to plumbers.  There are over 40 ITOs.

Remember, many polytechnics have industry training available.

You can find out more about apprenticeships through the modern apprenticeships site
