Places to join

There are plenty of places in Auckland that you can join as an annual member.  These annual memberships generally offer unlimited access and other special deals.

You may also be interested in involving your child in activities such as Girl Guides, Scouts, or St John.  These organisations provide a chance for your child to make lifelong friends and learn valuable lifes skills.

Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ)

For an annual fee you get entry to the zoo during normal hours whenever you want (as long as you remember your card) - and you get special deals from the gift shop and café. Joining Friends of the Zoo is not that expensive either. There are lots of different options and you can learn more about FOTZ from the Auckland Zoo website or visit your local library and pick up a brochure from the Information Auckland City stand.

Kelly Tarlton's Sea Stars Annual membership

Visit Kelly Tarlton's as often as you like for one or two years and gain loads of other extras like the chance to visit behind the scenes.

GirlGuiding New Zealand

A great way for girls to develop their potential and to make friends and learn and grow together.  This is a modern funky site on its own, but also provides information about joining Girl Guides, an organisation that has a lot to offer beside their fantastic cookies.

Scouts

Scout's is great for building confidence, learning about the environment, and making friends.  Check out the different types of scouts (like cubs and keas) as well as all the other information you need to know.  This is a great way for children to make new friends, and develop life skills for the future.

St John

This programme teaches leadership. life skills, health care, and first aid to children between the ages of  6 and 18.  This is a great way for children of all backgrounds to get together and have fun while making new friends and giving back to their community.
