The Times Digital Archive chronicles all significant social, economic and cultural developments over 200 years. Entries include advertisements, book reviews, financial and business reports, the Court pages, Parliamentary debate reports, obituaries and sports & theatre coverage.
This database allows you to search the full-text of the entire newspaper, including articles, advertising and editorials. You can also browse by issue date, story headline, subject etc.
Search tips
- Use the Keyword Search option to search your topic. You can choose to limit your search by date, section etc.
- Try using the Browse function to select a specific date and then view pages from that issue using the thumbnail images.
- The Advanced option allows you to narrow down your search even further within a section of the paper - eg. you can limit your search to only articles with illustrations.
