Find the answers to the questions in this quiz by searching EIU Reports.

Hint: Go to the Help section at the top of the page. Search under ‘About Us’ on the left hand side of the page, you will need to choose this option twice. Just read through the information about the EIU to find the answer.

Hint: Choose the Help section. Go to the Frequently Asked Questions situated in the middle of the screen. The answer is found in one of the FAQs, simply click on the question.

Hint: Go to the “all countries” screen. Choose the option ‘Americas’ on the left hand side to refine your search. Then under countries choose Canada. Then highlight ‘Labour Market’ under ‘broad categories’, and highlight ‘domestic economy review.’ Just read through the article to find the answer.
4. What underpins government finances in Brunei?
Hint: Look under “all countries”. Go to Brunei. Select ‘Budget’ under “Broad Category” and then select ‘economic policy review’ under “Specific Topic.”
5. What was putting pressure on the labour market in Bolivia in 2003?
Hint: Click on ‘Advanced Search’ at the top left hand corner of the home screen. Choose ‘Bolivia’ under the country option. Choose ‘Country Profile’, under publications. Type the word “labour” and choose the “all words” radio button. Then choose the article from 05/01/2003, entitled, “Resources and Infrastructure”. Read through to find the answer.
6. How many years had the Republicans controlled the lower house of Congress?
Hint: Choose USA from the “all countries” page. Then choose the article, “USA Politics: power shift November 8 2006”, this is found under ‘Recent Related Analysis’.
7. Name two economic reforms implemented by Benjamin Netanyahu during his time as minister of finance in Israel.
Hint: Click on ‘Advanced’ search at the top left hand corner of the home screen. Highlight ‘Israel’ under the country category. Choose “all publications”. Type in policies and markets as a “phrase”, then search. Locate the article, entitled, “Economic policy: The impact of Mr Netanyahu’s resignation.”
8. What area saw the largest increase in retail sales in New Zealand in October 2006?
Hint: Choose ‘Asia’ to narrow the country search. Then choose New Zealand. Highlight “consumption” under ‘broad category’, then highlight “domestic economy review under ‘specific topic’.
9. By what percent did wool exports increase in Australia in the second quarter of 2006?
Hint: Go to ‘Advanced Search’. Choose Australia as the country. Choose all publications. Click on the radio button which says “boolean search”. Then type exports and wool in the “words/phrases to search for” box. Select the article from 10/04/2006 entitled, “Foreign trade and payments: Mineral and metal exports boom.”
10. South Africa has significant wealth in minerals, diamonds are part of its key export products, what other minerals are exported?
Hint: Do an advanced search, with South Africa as the country. Select “all publications”, then refine the search to “all words” with the word diamonds in the phrase box. The choose the article from, 07/01/2006, “Resources and infrastructure: Natural resources and the environment.”
