    Avondale Community Library

    Click and Learn: the basics

    Mondays, 10am to noon

    This four week course gives a general overview of how to use a mouse, use the keyboard, go on to the internet, set up an email address, and formatting in Microsoft Word.

    Central City Library

    Four different courses are offered in the Akozone centre on the first floor of the Central City Library. Topics are covered in-depth in small groups with a maximum of six participants. Whilst the courses are free of charge, participants will need to join the library on booking a place, if not already a member.

    Tuesdays, 1.15pm to 2.30pm

    This three week course gives a general overview of how to use computers, basic mouse and keyboard skills and how to use the library catalogue.

    This three week course gives a general overview of how to create, format edit and print simple documents.

    This three week course takes an in-depth look at email. It covers how to set up an email account, send and receive emails, use the address book, and send attachments.

    An in-depth look at databases,  the library website and how to search the internet.

    Click and Learn in Mandarin

    These classes are taught in Mandarin and cover the basics of using the mouse, the keyboard and demonstrate how to access the Dragonsource database where popular Chinese magazines can be read online.

    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings

    One-on-one Click and Learn sessions are offered on how to use a computer, searching the internet, setting up an email address, using the library catalogue and website, and beginners' genealogy. Sessions are tailor-made to the student and last from 30 to 60 minutes.
