Day access cards

If you are not a member of Auckland City Libraries and are wanting access to the specialised collections and services of the Central City Library, you can buy an day access card.

These cards are available for purchase from the Central City Library. No ID or proof of address is required.


Charges for day access cards

  • an access card is $10 and is valid until closing time on the day of purchase.

An access card will allow you use of the resources at Central City Library:

  • material stored off the public floors, including older books and previous copies of magazines*
  • indexed music anthologies and selected art and literature collections*
  • repair manuals*
  • trade statistics and standards*

An access card will not:

  • entitle you to borrowing privileges
  • entitle you to access subscription databases
  • guarantee the availability of a specific item. 

*Alternatively, non-members can access these items at $1per title. Ask at the Central City Library for more information.
