Auckland City Libraries has a range of concessions that are available for members aged over 65, children and teenage members, and those customers who have a permanent mobility or reading disability.
Concessions do not apply to any items from the What's HOT! collections.

Senior members
Auckland city residents and ratepayers aged over 65 years receive a 20% discount on the rental of:
- DVDs
- audio books
- music CDs
- language courses
- CD-ROMs

Children and Teenagers
Requests are free on all items for children and teenagers' members.
Items in the children and teenagers' collections incur a smaller daily overdue charge than items from other collections.
Compact discs and audio books in the children and teenagers collections are free to borrow.

Housebound members
Housebound membership is available to Auckland city residents who are not able to access the library for themselves and who meet the outlined criteria. For more information click on this link -Housebound membership.
Concessions for Housebound members:
- no rental on audio books and music CDs
- 20% discount on the rental fee of DVDs, language courses and CD-ROMs
As Housebound members are reliant on support for delivery and pick up of library material, these customers are not charged overdue fees.

Special Access Needs
Special Access Needs membership is available to customers who have a permanent disability that could prevent them reading or using standard printed material. More information is available on Special Access Needs membership.
Concessions for Special Access Needs members:
- no rental on audio books and music CDs
- 20% discount on the rental fee of DVDs, language courses and CD-ROMs
- free requests
- exemption from overdue charges
