Audio books include fiction and non-fiction titles, and are available in CD and cassette tape formats. For recommendations check out the award winners page to see the winners of the Audies, an award given to the best audio books in the year.
Loan periods
- audio books are issued for 28 days at a cost of $3
- some audio books are available in the What’s HOT! collections
- some members of Auckland City Libraries may qualify to become registered audio book customers to receive special borrowing privileges
Renewals
Audio books may be renewed once for a further 28 days at a cost of $3. Audio books are renewed from the date they are renewed (not the date they were originally due).
Audio books can no longer be renewed via the website or automated telephone service. To renew an audio book either visit or phone your local library and the staff will do this for you free of charge (rental charges still apply).
Requesting audio books
Requests cost $1 and can be done via the catalogue (see catalogue help), or with staff assistance at any Auckland City Library.
