Events and exhibitions at Central
Every day there is something going on at Central: We have exhibitions, talks, library tours, school holiday activities and live music. Visit our events at Central page for details.
Cafe and News Zone
Enjoy our cafe and more on the ground floor: get great food and coffee from real, watch news via satellite in the News Zone, and keep the kids amused with interactive games.

Children’s interactive games
Playtime in the children’s department now comes with interactive projection games – the first in New Zealand. See stars swirl around your feet, or run away from spiders! Guaranteed fun for both children and adults alike.
News Zone
See world news via satellite and browse your favourite international newspapers online. Located next to real on the ground floor, Central City Library.
Akozone - library learning centre
The Akozone centre, our brand new computer learning facility on the first floor, offers free access to the library catalogue, e-government services, the Digital Library, and much more. You can take a computer class, work on an assignment or browse the internet.
