Education and literacy

Learning to read and write are two of the most important skills that your child can develope.  They are skills that can help your child to succeed in higher education and in their future employment.

Education goes hand in hand with literacy and enables your child to learn skills and earn knowledge that will help them once they move into the adult world.  There are options for education beyond the traditional school environment, and sometimes children need assistance with learning difficulties.  Your local library will have some resources to help you with issues surrounding education and learning needs.

The resources in this section will help you to understand more about literacy, education, and learning skills and difficulties for New Zealand children.  If you need further help you can try contacting some of the organisations that we have recommended under related links.
