It can become all too easy to define a person by their disability - and that is as true for children as for adults. Disabilities often create special needs, but often other people are unaware of the reasons behind why people have special needs.
The stories that have been reviewed here have often been written as a learning tool for children who do not have disabilities to help them learn about the disability. It is often easier for a child to learn about an idea if that idea is put into context and is presented in a way that encourages without preaching ideas.
