Full of repetition and fantastic rhyming sounds, this book will appeal to younger preschoolers who are learning all about the world around them and the wonderful sounds of language.  Older preschoolers will enjoy the wonderful pictures and the flow of this wonderful story.

Recommended for ages 2+.

The best picnic ever

Jack and his mother have gone on a picnic.  Jack is excited, but he can't help but wish that there was someone to play with.  Along comes the giraffe, an elephant, a leopard, and a tiger.  They all have fun things to share with Jack before they sit down to share the picnic.  This is a fantastic read aloud book for older children that is full of sounds and action - and just the right amount of repetition. 

Recommended for ages 5 +

One day a lion appears in the library and no one knows what to do!  There are no rules about lions in the library, and unless he breaks one of the rules then there is nothing that can be done.  Everyday they lion helps out at the library, but then one day he has to make a terrible choice – what will he do?  A wonderful sophisticated picture book for the whole family to enjoy.

Ten little fingers

Illustrated by Annie Kubler

Here is the perfect board book to introduce your little one to the wonders of having ten fingers.  They can shut their hands up tight, or stretch them open and wiggle their fingers in the air.  This is a book that is made around an action song, and it is great fun to share with children of all ages.

Spooky hour

By Tony Mitton; illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees

In an old tower a clock bell rings to let everyone know that midnight has come - the spooky hour.  Out of the woods come all kinds of creatures, from witches to trolls, ghosts to cats, and wizards to spiders.  They are all heading towards the creepy castle on a hill where a big surprise is waiting.  This colourful book is part counting book, but is also a fantastic story for boys and girls of all ages - a perfect read for a dark Halloween night.

A little pig has a very prickly problem - while he was asleep he rolled onto something very prickly that got stuck in his tail!  Now he needs help to get rid of the thistle.  Who will be able to help this piglet with his sticky problem?  This is a bright picture book with a delightful story that will have the children laughing as everyone tries to help.
