People in other countries

Countries and how people live in other countries are a common homework topic.  There are some good series which should be able to help answer the most common questions that are asked.

Country file

A great series that provides a simple overview of information that can help you with homework topics about countries.  There is information about the people, the jobs that people do, what the country exports, and all the other interesting things that you want to know about other countries.  There are also recommended websites to help you find more information.

The series includes: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, France, Great Britain, India, Ireland, Pakistan.

 

Islands of the South Pacific

If you want to learn about the Pacific Islands, and the vibrant cultures that you can find there – then this is the series of books that you need to read.  Each book is well laid out and has full colour photos of all the interesting places and people.  There are timelines, maps, and there are even internet resources in the back to help you find more information.

The series includes: Fiji, Micronesia, Samoa and Tuvalu, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu.

The European Union or EU is a group of European countries that are working together for the good of everyone in the region.  They have a single currency, and work towards similar goals.  Many of the countries in the EU have long histories and make interesting countries to study.  This series has loads of information that is well laid out and easy to follow.  If you are studying the EU then why not start here.

This is a great series for younger students who are just learning about other countries.  There are simple maps, and lots of photographs to help illustrate what the text is saying.  The words are simple and easy to understand, with personal stories from children who live in each country.

A series focused on countries from around the world.  This great reference series is up to date and includes loads of information that will help with homework assignments and general interest.  Well laid out with helpful images and photos, this series is the perfect place to look for information.
