Part of the Horrible Science series, this book contains over 20 experiments that you can try using food.  Some of them recommend help from a pet adult, but most of them are quick and easy to complete for older children.

This book is part of the Horrible Science series and includes loads of fun stories and wacky facts - as well as having some unusual science experiments to try.

Science projects usually take a long time, but this book has pulled together a series of experiments that can be completed quickly.  A great resource. 

 

Science fair projects: physics

Bob Bonnet and Dan Keen

A collection of science fair projects for older children, all based around the science of physics.  There are detailed and well laid out instructions in this book, for a wide range of experiments including sound and movement.

 

Prize-winning science fair projects for curious kids

Joe Rhatigan and Rain Newcomb

This is a helpful and well laid out book that will have you well on your way to a good science fair experiment in no time.  The experiments are interesting, and in most cases fun as well.

 

Blood and DNA evidence: Crime solving science experiments

Kenneth G. Rainis

This book is for older students and is packed with information and experiments to do with forensic science.  There is a need for adult help with some of the experiments, but this book is written just for kids.

 

Janice VanCleave's A+ projects in biology

Janice VanCleave

For intermediate age school children and older, this book has detailed experiments all focused around biology.  There are more books in this series, and this author is a good place to start when looking for science experiment ideas.
