The despicable DVD (or vile video)
The ominous order is...
Book reviews from kooky kids

The must see movie in 2005 for all lovers of misery was Lemony Snicket's a series of unfortunate events, which was based on the first three books in the series of the same name. The movie was a huge success and enjoyed by viewers of all ages - though how anyone can enjoy such miserable and unfortunate circumstances is yet to be understood.
The movie was every bit as dark and dingy as promised, and although it did alter the story to some extent, most readers of the series agree that the movie was a fantastically fraught as promised. The Baudelaire orphans are brought to life, and the deceitful Jim Carey is the perfect Count Olaf. This movie is not for everyone in the family though, younger family members may find parts of the movie too scary to watch - but they can always watch it when they are older.

Book reviews from kooky kids
Here are some of the reviews that kids have sent to us.
The bad beginning
By Lemony Snicket
This book is the first in the Series of Unfortunate Events. As the title suggests, it is a very bad beginning indeed. It reminded me of Harry Potter - before he left the Dursley's house.
The Baudelaire orphans are wonderful characters. I particularly liked the biting baby and the way in which the author really included her in the story by translating her exlamations of GACK! and OOK! The author also explains a lot of the words he uses in telling the story - I never did decide if that was a good thing or just annoying though. But it was a minor aspect. Everything else was very good.
Nice suspense, easy to read, hard to put down.

The book is about 3 orphans and they go and live with a very kind man.But the horror starts when the cruel Count Olaf interferes and murder's the man[Dr.Montgomery]and tries to steal the orpan's fortune. But now I'm not going to tell you any more so you better start reading the book.

The ersatz elevator
By Lemony Snicket
The Baudelaire children set off to a wonderful journey again as the book is filled with mysteries(the author says it's a bad book but don't believe him).
What is the secret organisation V.F.D?
Where are their friends Duncan and Isadora Quagmire? What is down that horrible elevator? I got so excited to know the answer when I started reading the book and I bet you will be excited too.but I'm not telling you the answer so you better start reading the book
