Bird and Sugar Boy
Sofie Laguna James Burdell loves reading about birds and drawing them. He lives with his Dad. His Mum ‘shot through’ when he was little. His best friend is Sugar Boy – who calls him Bird, and they do everything together – so you can imagine how Bird feels when he finds out that Sugar is moving away, right across Australia. Bird makes a wild plan and runs away. It just about ends in disaster, luckily his Dad’s biker friends were on the lookout for him. This book was well written but a bit confusing at times. It also got me wanting to know about birds more.
