High school musical: battle of the bands
Disney channel East High is putting on its first ever battle of the bands! Troy has got together his basketball buds to form the rebounds band, and Sharpay has created her own girl group. Gabriella and Ryan are both left out and in the end Gabriella might end up tackling the stage by herself…………. Recommended reading age: 7-9

Sheep
Valerie Hobbs If you love adventure stories and dogs, you’ll love this book! Not only does it have an excellent plot, but it is written so beautifully (through the eyes of a dog) you can see scenes before your eyes! Some parts are a bit sad, but it has a wonderful ending. Recommended reading age: 9-11

Pharaoh
David Kennett If you are interested in Ancient Egypt, this book is a must read! It has tons of interesting info about mummies, pharaohs and gods so it’s also great for study. It has beautiful illustrations, completing my checklist of what makes a good book!

Escape from war
James Riordon Although this book is great to read it is also very meaningful. It describes how things were in Germany and England, WWII. I think it is very clever how the author has split the book into two sides – Frank and Hannah, two children, evacuated from two countries to the same house. Recommended reading age 9-11

Fearless
Tim Lott The main characters are Little Fearless, Stargazer, Tattle, Butey, Soapdish and the Commander. Little Fearless is imprisoned in the so-called lovely school that turns people into good citizens but the school is actually a prison where the girls have no name and work all day. Noone is allowed to leave the school but that is exactly what Little Fearless does to find the girls’ families. This will either raise awareness to the horrible school or end Little Fearless. It was a very sad book.
Recommended reading age: 12-15
