Runestone

By Anna Ciddor

Thora, the farmer's daughter and Oddo, the runestone maker's son are accidentally switched around at birth. This muddle-up ends up saving Thora's life. No one questions the fact that Thora can't do a single spell, while Oddo makes it rain at command. Suddenly a rune goes wrong and the poor farmer won't wake up from his sleep again. Immediately it lies with Thora and Oddo to put things right again and bring the food to the market. The journey on the little boat is dangerous and tough - and what awaits them on their return?

This is the first part of an exciting and interesting story with rune writing to work out at the end of every chapter.

The angry Aztecs

By Terry Deary

This book is about history in the ancient Mayan times. It was very gruesome and I don't recommend it for those people who don't like knowing how other people killed each other. It is very interesting and is worthwhile reading.
