The talking stick

Hohepa is worried that his family is not in touch with the wealth of their past and having a dream that he was not able to speak because there was no speaking stick, he decides to make a talking stick of his own. As he works the work and carves the shapes into the stick, he prepares a wonderful gift for himself and his whanau. This book can be read by slightly older readers, or enjoyed as a sophisticated picture book by younger children.
