Caldecott Award

This award is decided and awarded each year by the Association for Library Service to Children, which is part of the American Library Association.

The Caldecott medal is awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished picture book for that year. 

Picture books for children published in the United States of America are considered for this award.

The award is named in honour of the English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. 

 

The 2007 winner (books published in 2006) is:
