Well actually two days. Here are twelve images of central Auckland taken on Wednesday, 11 September and Friday 13 September 1907, by Henry Winkelmann. Apart from one taken up Queen Street from the corner where the Town Hall now stands, the photographs are of the side streets off Queen Street and two of Albert Street. At this stage the sealed streets appear to be the ones with tram tracks. The motor car has made little impact on the urban scene. Click on the thumbnail photographs to view a larger image. |
