Waitemata County
Formed in 1876, the western part became Waitemata City in 1974, while the Glenfield and Albany areas joined Takapuna City. Waitemata County and City Engineers Department Plans 1910 - 1972 are at Archives New Zealand's Auckland office.

Rodney and Franklin Counties:
Waitakere City also holds Road Board Minute books for Wainui (includes Orewa) 1870 - 1892, Pukeatua (includes Dairy Flat) 1898 - 1915 and Kaukapakapa 1919 - 1921. These were originally part of Rodney County and later became part of Waitemata County. They are now covered by Rodney District Council. Archives New Zealand's Auckland office also has Road Board Minutes, etc., for both the Rodney and Franklin District Council's areas, along with Pukekohe Borough Council subject files 1912 - 1983.
