Microfilms can be ordered from the huge world-wide resources of the Family History Library of the Genealogical Society of Utah - the family history section of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (Mormon Church).
There are more than 2.4 million reels of microfilm held by the GSU. These include the complete census records of England, Irish Civil registration indexes, parish registers of England and Wales, British Army records, and many New Zealand records. The holdings of the GSU library are continually being added to, as there is a team of people filming all over the world.
Auckland City Libraries are the first non-church organisation in New Zealand and the first public library in Australasia to be granted borrowing privileges.
