The exhibition Real Gold: Treasures of Auckland City Libraries opened on the second floor of Central City Library on Monday 12 November.  Items for this free exhibition are selected from thousands of rare, valuable and wonderful items cared for by the Special Collections unit at Auckland City Libraries.

The Hokianga exhibition held at Central from July to September 2007 highlighted and celebrated the significance of the history, the people and the place that is Hokianga. The exhibition featured over 150 taonga from Auckland City Libraries' collections that have not been previously displayed as well as from private collections.
