Music programmes collection
The music programme collection consists of concert programmes from the Auckland region. Dating from 1848 through to the present, the collection provides a profile of the cultural life of Auckland.

New Zealand sound recordings collection
A reference collection of New Zealand music recordings is available for use in the Special Collections department.
The collection is comprised of a wide array of music, in a variety of formats, including: vinyl, cassettes and compact discs.
There are duplicate copies of most reference materials in the lending collection.
Sheet music collection
We house a comprehensive collection of New Zealand sheet music. Such gems as the original manuscript of God defend New Zealand sit alongside contemporary classic, Nature's best: New Zealand's top 30 songs of all-time.

Ephemera Collection
Ephemera is a term for printed material with a limited life-span - tickets, flyers, cards, programmes, posters, etc - which is produced to pass on details about specific issues, activities, events, products, and services.
The Ephemera collection contains programmes from concerts performed throughout New Zealand.

Māori material in Te Kohinga Matua
Material for researching Māori music is available in Te Kohinga Matua in the Central City Library. Resources include reference books, videos and sound recordings.
