NZ Book Month was established to promote New Zealand books and writers. It works with a large variety of literaty organisations, publishers, booksellers, writers, libraries, schools, celebrities and charities to celebrate and showcase the brilliant writing talent New Zealand has and to support new and upcoming writers in our country.
The annual event has been running since 2006 and one of its most important features is a national competition for new writing open, to both unpublished and established writers, which culminates into an annual publication, The six pack.
