Auckland City Libraries is delighted to bring to you another exciting Thursday Lunchtime Concert series.
Every Thursday from 12.10pm, beginning on 10th April, talented local musicians will present a programme of beautiful music for you to enjoy. From singers to chamber music, solo classical guitar to cello, choirs and orchestras, there is a wide range of music making up an interesting and varied concert series. We will also be featuring some of the very talented music students from Auckland secondary schools.

Martinu Trio
Exceptionally talented young musicians Gillian, Hye-won and Tony join together to present the beautiful Martinu Piano Trio.
Along with Leos Janacek, Bohuslav Martinu was one of the twin giants of Czech music in the twentieth century, a composer with a distinctly individual voice and a versatility that led him to excel in every medium from stage works to symphonies to string quartets.

Karuna Kourkova and Alex Milligan
Soprano Karuna Kourkova graduated from the Corelli School of the Performing Arts in 2004 and now attends Senior College.
She is a member of the Opera Factory and currently studies singing with Alla Renjina who is a concert pianist, singing teacher and graduate of Moscow Conservatory. Karuna aims to continue her singing training at University.
Tenor Alex Milligan attends Kings College where he has gained a very well rounded musical education, singing in many musical productions, choirs and playing French horn in the orchestra and concert band.
Alex is a member of the Opera Factory and also the South Auckland Choral Society. A highlight for Alex was to attend the New Zealand National Summer Singing School in Hawkes Bay in 2007.
