Auckland City Libraries have a range of magazines relating to travel including:

• Australian Gourmet Traveller
• Conde Nast Traveller
• Destinations (Auckland)
• Directions : official magazine of New Zealand Automobile Association Inc.
• National Geographic - Recent issues indexed in Proquest.
• National Geographic traveler - Recent issues indexed in Proquest.
• New Zealand Geographic - Indexed in Index New Zealand
• Vogue entertaining & travel - Articles give the reader practical 'insider' information on what to do, see and eat when you arrive at your destination.
• Wanderlust Magazine - A magazine covering all aspects of independent travel including health, safety, culture, writing and photography.

Travel guides

The library has a large collection of travel and accommodation guides including :

• Regional surveys of the world - A series covering each of the major world regions and broken down by country within each publication. Includes chapters on each country containing in-depth articles on its geography, history, demography and economy.
• Each year Fodors and Frommers publish guides for most countries.
• The Lonely Planet series is not published every year but we do get the latest copies for most countries.
• Other travel guide series’ purchased by the library include the Eyewitness (the Dorling Kindersley) series, Footprint handbooks and the Rough Guides.
