Introduction

Short stories can be tricky to find.  These pages contain some tips on how to look for them - whether you're studying, trying to track down something you read a long time ago, or just plain reading for pleasure.

If you know the author, check the catalogue under their family name.

If you need a story about a subject, like World War II, child abuse, or racism in New Zealand?

Try putting 'short stories' into a keywords from subject search.  This will find anthologies on a theme or subject, like Fathers and Sons, or Irish Comic Writing.

Also, check out our key reference books, held on the ground floor of the Central library.
