Educational theory

What is educational theory?

Issues concerning the theory and philosophies of education underpin every debate and decision made in the educational arena. This area covers broad questions such as: What is education? What is learning? How do we go about teaching? Each of these major questions lead on to very many more questions.

Where can I find resources on education?

Education has it's own section of the Dewey Decimal sequence, from 370-379. Any books starting with these numbers will discuss some aspect of education. Particularly useful here are the numbers 370.19, sociology of education, and 370.1, philosophy and theory of education.
