Search tips
There are five different types of search available:
- Choose the subject search to find articles by topic. It is best to search by entering only one or two words, with the more important one first. Wildcards (*, ?, !) may be used.
-
To search for articles by matching words that occur in the articles themselves, with the best matches displayed first, do a relevance search. This search is most effective when two or more search terms are entered. Each term is analyzed for its frequency of use in each article and the frequency of use within all articles.
- Use keyword search to find articles by matching words in the articles themselves. You can use a combination of a number of keywords, and choose whether the words must be together, within a certain number of words of each other, or even just appearing anywhere in the same article.
- The advanced search will find articles by using any of several indexes, alone or in combination. The search can be restricted by date, and also to academic reviewed publications, or to particular journals.
- Choose the journal search to find all available articles in a specific issue of a journal or newspaper. Select an issue to display the table of contents.
