Book Review Index is searchable database of reviews - both fiction and non-fiction, popular and academic. Many are in fulltext, so you can read online or print out for later.
Titles include:
- New York Times Book Review
- New Yorker
- Spectator
Search tips
You have three main options for search - by author, title, or journal.
Author and title are fairly similar - enter a name or title and away you go. Use the limit options to narrow your search. Good ones to try are:
- Articles with text (so you can read it online)
- Length of review (short, medium, or long)
- Reading level (childrens, young adult or 'other')
Journal search lets you pick a magazine that you like and browse back issues. This is great when you don't know what you're looking for.
