Sculpture

The traditions of sculpture form the basis for many of the concerns surrounding contemporary art. The basic sculptural model of a free standing, three-dimensional form has developed into the installation, multimedia, and interdisciplinary formats that permeate contemporary practices today.

Current art practises can often be challenging for a viewing audience. However, the lack of traditional boundaries in these post-modern investigations offer art experiences that are endlessly fascinating.

These web pages are intended as an introduction to the resources concerning contemporary sculpture and art available at the library with particular reference to art events in Auckland City.
