The E H McCormick Research Library at Auckland Art Gallery/Toi o Tāmaki has an extensive collection of resources on both New Zealand and international art. It is located on the 1st Floor of the main Gallery building.
All items are for reference use only in the library. Most are listed in the Auckland City Libraries catalogue.
Books
The Research Library has a substantial collection of books on New Zealand art, including exhibition catalogues. Search for these in the Auckland City Libraries catalogue.
Artists files
The library has over 3,500 files on individual New Zealand painters, sculptors and photographers. These contain articles, brochures and other miscellaneous ephemera on a large number of New Zealand artists. Highlights include an extensive Colin McCahon archive. Selected artists' files are listed in the library catalogue.
Collection database
Images and descriptions of artworks in the Gallery's permanent collection can be found online in the Collection Database.
Copying facilities
Photocopier (black & white) and colour scanner are available.
