Welcome aboard the library that visits you!
The mobile library clocks up around 1000 kilometres per month visiting 80 stops in Auckland city with a fine selection of fiction, non-fiction, Audio books, Large Print books and magazines.
If one of the 3000 or so items that can be borrowed from the bus does not catch your eye, you can request items from any library in Auckland and collect them from the mobile library when it is in your area – just ask our onboard librarian, or you can reserve them for yourself through our online catalogue. You can also return anything you have borrowed from any of our libraries to the bookbus.
New Stop
We have just added a new stop to our route; as of the 10th of April we will be going to the Edmund Hillary Retirement Village at 221 Abbotts Way in Remuera between 10.20 and 10.50 every second Thursday.
We have adjusted the other stops on the Thursday morning, moving them earlier in the morning - check the suburb timetable to see how your stop is affected.
Operating hours
The mobile library runs from Monday to Friday. The bus visits it's stops around Auckland city on a fortnightly (two weekly) basis - check the suburb timetable for a listing of stops. If you would like a copy of your stop times and dates you can contact us and we’ll send one out to you, or ask on-board.
