Citizens' Advice Bureau (CAB)

Libraries provide information on anything and everything but sometimes you may want advice as well.  A Citizens Advice Bureau  (CAB) can give you information and confidential advice about all sorts of problems or questions - all of which is free. They provide advice on a wide range of topics  including:

  • Legal eg court fines
  • Personal eg division of relationship property
  • Education eg student loans
  • Vehicle eg accidents and insurance
  • Disputes eg Benefit reviews and appeals
  • Housing eg renting
  • Finance eg Family Trusts
  • Justices of the Peace at scheduled times

Each Citizens Advice Bureau is staffed by trained volunteers and anyone - resident, citizen or visitor - can make use of this free service. Auckland City has 10 CABs, many of them near to a community library.

Freephone 0800 FOR CAB (0800 367 222) for advice or for details of your nearest CAB.
