On 26 February 2004 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon church) gifted microfilm copies of the Niue High Court Registrar records to Auckland City Libraries. The original manuscript records were badly damaged by Cyclone Heta in January 2004.
As these are held in the Auckland Research Centre which is an 'card access only' area, you will need to either be a member of Auckland City Libraries (see membership for more details) or purchase a day access card to gain entry.
The Niue High Court records generally date range from 1900 (when civil registration commenced) to 1997 when the records were microfilm by the Mormon church. These records are not restricted to civil registration certificates. They include records regarding emigration, immigration, and genealogies.
Note: These records are copies of the original registers, and as they are not certified by the registrar-general they may not be acceptable for legal purposes.
