Events at Waiheke Community Library

Music Month of May 2008

Music month performance.

Every Saturday in May at 11am we are having free performances in the library. On May 17 we celebrated our talented youth. Tilde Sorenson, Milly Rout and Hannah Lees all played the violin - children and adults alike were in awe of their skill and the beauty of the music.

School holiday programmes

Every Wednesday, from 11am to noon, during the April, July and September school holidays we have activities in the library for children aged from 5 to 12yrs old approximately.

April Holidays

“Enter the world of dreams”

We had nearly 100 people at our 2 wednesday mornings!  The dream catchers proved to be very popular, and we've had a number of reports that children around Waiheke have them hung up over their beds!  The following week we made a Leonardo da Vinci ornithopter and parachute - both proving a challenge to fly - as was the case for da Vinci too!

Here are some photos from our Dream holiday programme:

From the left - Sanchia and Milly with their dream catchers and Tawera with his ornithopter!

This is what we have been reading in 2007 & 2008:
