The book I want is in the basement. How do I get it?

The basement is staff only access.  If you would like an item from the basement, bring the item details to a reference desk with your library card and staff will retrieve it. Basement requests take around 10-20 minutes to process.

Do you have IELTS books?

Yes - and you can search for them on the catalogue using IELTS as a "title keyword". This will give you a list of all IELTS items, both books and books with tapes. These records can be grouped into books and language courses by clicking the title bar on the format column.

The book I want says “searching for“ on the catalogue. What does “searching for“ mean?

This means that the last time a librarian looked for this item it wasn't found on the shelves. As the item may have been returned to its correct location the first course of action is to re-check the shelves. If the item is not found, please see a librarian. The librarian will look for the item, or try to get another copy if still available.

The book I want says “in transit“ on the catalogue. What does "in transit" mean?

The item belongs to one library and has been returned to a different branch. It is currently being delivered to the "home library". You may place a reserve via the catalogue or ask a librarian to place a reserve for you (a fee may apply).
