Preservation policy

Auckland City Libraries' preservation policy (2006) reinforces the Libraries’ commitment to the continuing care and preservation of its collections for the present and future generations of Auckland City and New Zealand.

The purpose of the preservation policy is to provide a comprehensive statement on the preservation of the Libraries’ collections. The policy provides direction to staff to carry out their responsibilities regarding the preservation function and to communicate to those outside the institution the principles which guide preservation within Auckland City Libraries.

The policy will be reviewed and updated every three years.
