As part of Auckland City Libraries' Montana Poetry Day celebration on Friday 21 July, the public was invited to text their original poems to the library to be projected onto the Central City Library's three big screens LIVE! Sixty works, each with its own style, mood and subject were submitted for the electronic anthology. All the public had to do was text a poem up to 160 characters to a number that was set up by TxtCentre, an organisation that utilises SMS and MMS txt messaging technologies to provide customers with an alternative way of contacting us. This was a first for Auckland City Libraries. Find out more about TxtCentre. Check out the txt poetry submissions. |
