Real Gold book cover.A treasure in itself, this 232-page book celebrates the rich variety of Auckland City Libraries’ special collections, full of rare, valuable and wonderful items. It features one hundred items, each pictured in full colour with accompanying text.

Among these treasures are a First Folio of Shakespeare, medieval illuminated manuscripts, maps and sketches of early Auckland, avant-garde private press productions, Maori-language manuscripts, letters from Florence Nightingale to Sir George Grey, the records of Limbs Dance Company and Mercury Theatre.
