Newspaper room at Central

The newspaper room, on the second floor of the Central City Library, holds a wide range of national and international newspapers.

We keep papers in the newspaper room for either six or twelve months. For older papers, please check our catalogue, contact the staff in the Auckland Research Centre, or try the resources in the Digital Library.

Early Auckland area newspapers

The Auckland Research Centre houses a comprehensive collection of historical, and soon to be historical, newspapers. These include local papers from the Auckland area, New Zealand national newspapers and several international titles.

Newspapers at community libraries

All community libraries receive, and retain for two months, the New Zealand Herald and local area papers.

Digital Library

The Digital Library provides access to a wide range of articles from newspapers and magazines. Browse our news and newspaper eResources to find up to date information around the world.
