Our collection covers a broad range of styles. In addition to classical, jazz and rock, the collection also contains:

- vocal scores and librettos for opera and musicals
- miniature scores and full scores
- instrumental tutors
- a strong New Zealand music collection, both print and manuscript
- choral and orchestral sets
We keep a wealth of other types of sheet music in the basement of the Central City Library. This material is available for loan. Please feel free to place a request in advance of your visit.

Sir George Grey Special collections holds an extensive reference collection of New Zealand sheet music. You can find the Sir George Grey Special Collections on the second floor of the Central City Library.
Orchestral and choral sets at Auckland City Libraries
- Orchestral sets are available for loan for a fee (see loans and charges).
- Choral sets are free to loan.
You can borrow orchestral and choral sets for up to three months. All of this material is located in the basement of the Central City Library. Please refer to the catalogue or the printed lists kept at the first floor enquiries desk.
If you cannot locate a specific piece of music in our collection, try consulting
Cadence, a database of choral sets and orchestral parts held by New Zealand choirs, orchestras and libraries. It is possible to hire or loan items listed in this database.
If you are not a member of Auckland City Libraries, our choral and orchestral sets may be available for loan through interlibrary loan. You must contact the library you are a member of for more information.
