What is the Children's Literature Research collection?

Designed for researchers and anyone interested in children's books, this collection holds different materials relating to children's literature.

The collection includes:
  • Bibliographies, abstracts and indexes, subject guides and biographical source materials.
     
  • Children’s literature review, Something about the author, and other resources which provide information about authors and illustrators for children and researchers.
     
  • A selection of New Zealand children's publications from picture books up to senior fiction.
     
  • Examples of children's literature award winners from around the world.
  • Winners of New Zealand Children's book awards and a selection of New Zealand children's publications from picture books up to senior fiction.
  • Winners of the ALA Newbery and Caldecott, Carnegie and Greenaway and some Australian awards, also examples of children's literature award winners from around the world.

Where can I find the Children's Literature Research collection?

The Children's Literature Research collection is held at the Central City branch of Auckland City Libraries. You will have to ask a librarian to access items from this reference-only collection.
