Statement of intent (Goals)

Community

We will create opportunities for individuals and the Auckland community to connect with each other and us through the website for a unique customer experience, which reinforces belonging, identity and heritage in Auckland.

Content

We will be a leading creator of enriched content and collections, especially about Auckland and its heritage, and invite customers to create and contribute their own content. Content will be increasingly delivered over the web, both for remote access and in the physical library, and visible to the world.

Connection

We will enable all our customers to connect and transact easily and quickly with us on the local, regional, national and global stage, building social networks and collaborative communication; we will be 100% accessible.

Confidence

Librarians will develop, organise and preserve collections, content and knowledge. We will support customers to maximise their skills in retrieving, evaluating and using information, and will bring a human dimension to the digital space.
